What customers actually ask us about casing, shrink bags, kosher status and how we work.
Plastic casing is a multilayer film (typically PA/EVOH/PE) that provides oxygen barrier and flexibility, suited to cooked sausages, hams and processed cheese. Fibrous casing is viscose reinforced with fiber paper, giving a stable, precise caliber — mainly used for firm dry sausages and salami that need uniform slicing.
A vacuum shrink bag is a multilayer plastic bag that's vacuum-sealed and heat-shrunk tightly around the product, creating a snug pack that extends shelf life and protects against contamination and dehydration. Used mainly for fresh and processed meat, and cheese.
Peel casing is a skinless, biodegradable cellulose casing used to make sausages and frankfurters. The casing is removed after cooking, so the finished product is sold without any casing — very common in ready-to-eat sausage products.
Value-added casing transfers smoke, color or spice directly onto the product surface during cooking, so the product comes out of the process already finished visually and in flavor — saving a separate post-cook processing step.
